2xstream.com is an exciting new company that offers Internet broadcast services and video streaming/telephony systems. 2xstream.com 2VU videophone systems provide quality video communication over ordinary phone lines.
PRODUCTS/SERVICES
2xstream.com's systems address the video telephony and Internet video broadcast markets with low cost 2VU Videocaster, 2VU Desktop and 2VU Set-top videophone systems targeted toward the niche in between lower-cost, limited quality and limited feature-set computer-based videoconferencing kits and higher-quality high-speed ISDN videoconferencing systems starting at more than $5,000. These products offer television-quality images at low frame rates and good quality motion video at higher frame rates over ordinary phone lines. They also offer high-end features such as camera pan/tilt/zoom and the ability to transmit data (computer files, etc.) as well as remotely control cameras, etc. 2xstream.com videophones are targeted to small/medium business and high-end consumer markets. Three of these models operate over ordinary phone lines (POTS) and one unique Desktop model operates over ISDN lines.
2xstream.com fills several niches by offering more affordable and flexible video telephony. Companies and individuals selling products and services on the Internet can now address and overcome many of the barriers to customer acceptance of online shopping. Anyone can now set up a Web broadcasting stations at their home or office, virtually anywhere in the world. They can have pre-recorded video playing from VCRs or PCs, and PowerPoint or other presentations, multimedia ads or graphics that play when customers click-thru on a Web site banner ad. They can host live auctions from anywhere, thereby dramatically increasing the audience size, excitement and revenue for the event.
MARKETS
2xstream.com products are targeted toward high-growth market segments in video telephony. According to Frost & Sullivan, the services and systems videoconferencing market is growing at 38% per year, reaching $5.8 billion in 1997. There are currently 790 MM Plain Old Telephone System (POTS) users worldwide, and Forward Concepts predicts that the H.324 (POTS) standalone non-PC videophone market will experience rapid growth from $187 million in 1998 to $623 million in 2001. They also predict 100% growth in the desktop videoconferencing market for the next three years.
Cahners In-Stat Group estimates that 21% of the 120 million modems will be high-speed by 2002, further increasing the demand for Internet video. 2xstream.com will continue to target the above high-growth market segments with a diverse and unique line of video telephony.
