2VU-1000 Videocaster Modular Videophone
The 2VU-1000 Videocaster Modular Videophone is an advanced professional videoconferencing system that uses ordinary phone lines, yet offers features and quality often found in expensive systems that require high-speed lines. A highly customizable video telephony system with four composite video inputs, the 2VU-1000 Videocaster allows connection of external video cameras, digital cameras, camcorders, VCRs or computers. Video sources can be changed manually, or set for automatic cycling at periodic intervals. The 2VU-1000 Viodeocaster offers adjustable frame rates/quality settings from 0 to 20 frames per second (fps); advanced filtering and dual interlace video for clearer, more natural conversations; camera pan/tilt/zoom control; auto-answer for surveillance and monitoring; and full H.324 (POTS) compatibility for connection to other videophones, including PCs. The 2VU-1000 Videocaster is the only videophone to feature 4CIF resolution at low frame rates, allowing transmission of VGA quality images such as presentations and graphic images. Installed and operating in a manner of minutes, the 2VU-1000 Videocaster is ideal for small group business conferencing where low-cost, flexibility and ease-of-use are needed, as well as for a variety of vertical applications such as home health care/telemedicine, remote recruiting, surveillance/monitoring, telecommuting and broadcasting to the Internet.
Advanced Business Videoconferencing Features:
The 2VU-1000 fills the gap between low-cost H.324 (POTS) PC-based videophones below $300 and full-featured, but cost-prohibitive H.320 (ISDN) videoconferencing systems starting at $5,000 or more. Using similar microprocessor technology found in these higher-cost systems, and offering many of the same features and capabilities, the 2VU-1000 is an ideal videoconferencing solution for corporations with satellite offices, for government agencies or educational facilities, or for small and medium businesses with limited budgets. Now you can install a videophone wherever there is an ordinary telephone line and communicate visually with just about any other location across town or around the world. Designed with business conferencing in mind, the 2VU-1000 is capable of transmitting high-resolution images - such as slides from a computer presentation - at VGA-level quality.
Analog Line or Digital PBX Connection:
The 2VU-1000 uses an advanced video processing chip and high-speed modem to connect at up to 33.6Kbps over ordinary phone lines, which means you'll see full-color motion video at up to 20 fps. You can control the frame rate with lower frame rates offering higher resolution and clarity. Unique circuitry in the 2VU-1000 allows connection to private branch exchange (PBX) telephone systems, eliminating the need for dedicated analog lines or expensive ISDN or other high-speed lines.
PC VGA Input/Output:
The 2VU-1000 can output video directly to any standard VGA monitor, and
transmit VGA video (graphics, presentations, etc.) directly from a PC.
Advanced Video Surveillance/Monitoring Features:
The 2VU-1000's auto-answer feature allows unattended connection from a remote location and remote operation of the unit. Password protection keeps others out, and electronic pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) lets you keep an eye on employees & business assets. The 2VU-1000 also accepts VISCA video input from digital cameras, allowing remote PTZ control of the camera unit. Digital sensors/alarms can be connected to the 2VU-1000 via an optional I/O unit.
