They were first introduced at the 1964 World's Fair in New York City. Ever since then, we've all wanted one. We've imagined the ability to see and hear loved ones, friends, business associates and clients as simply and conveniently as we make ordinary phone calls today. Unfortunately, low-quality and high-cost has left our imaginations unfulfilled. Until now. The 2VU-500 Desktop Videophone is powered by one of the most advanced microprocessors in existence, and backed by one of the most innovative companies in the industry. Now you can pick up an ordinary phone, make a regular call anywhere, and see & hear anyone in full color on TV-500's four-inch high-quality LCD viewing screen. Installed and operating in a manner of minutes, the 2VU-500 Desktop Videophone is ideal for executive business conferencing, person to person viewing, and a variety of vertical applications such as home health care/telemedicine, remote recruiting, telecommuting and broadcasting to the Internet.
Install and use within minutes:
The 2VU-500's advanced design makes installing and using your Desktop Videophone fast and easy. Simply connect one phone cord (yes, it's included!) to your wall. Still with us? Then connect the other end to the videophone and connect the other phone cord (yes, it's included too!) to your phone. When finished, just plug in the power, turn on the videophone and make a call to your favorite aunt (OK, maybe not her), or favorite business client (OK, maybe not him). After they answer, press two keys on your touchtone phone keypad and in just a few seconds, view their smiling face on your TV-500's LCD screen. It's really that simple. And of course, there's no monthly fees, per-call charges or computer required.
Adjustable Video Quality:
The 2VU-500 uses an advanced video processing chip and high-speed modem to connect at up to 33.6Kbps, which means you'll see full-color motion video at up to 20 fps. You can control the frame rate from 0 fps (snapshot/freeze frame) up to 20 fps, with lower frame rates offering higher resolution and clarity.
Local View & Remote View:
The 2VU-500 lets you select remote or local view, or picture in picture simultaneous view --so you can check your smile while you're talking. You can also adjust the image size from small to full screen. A Privacy Mode feature offers you, well, privacy--on either end of the call. The built-in four-inch LCD screen offers, crisp, clear viewing.
Camera Pan/Tilt/Zoom:
The 2VU-500's camera view can be electronically controlled using the keys on your phone. You can zoom in on someone's nose, pan over to their cheek or up to their eyebrows with a simple touch of your finger.
Built-in Surveillance Function:
The 2VU-500's auto-answer feature allows you to call in from a remote location (from another 2VU videophone, of course) and remotely operate the unit. Password protection keeps others out, and camera pan/tilt/zoom lets you keep an eye on employees or over-zealous teenagers while you're on vacation in Aruba.
ITU-T H.324 Compatible:
2VU-500 conforms to the ITU-T H.324 international standards for videophone communications, making it compatible with other videophones, such as those less desirable ones found on PCs.
